Diamond Speakers Gavel Club is a public speaking club for secondary schools students in Sibu. This club is an affiliate of Toastmasters International, a renowned public speaking and leadership training organisation. Currently there are hundreds of gavel clubs all around the world helping to develop students into future leaders and give them the competitive advantage over others in the workforce.
Club Mission: To provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Who can join?
All secondary school students in Sibu are welcomed to join the club. They will undergo Competent Communicator (CC) and Competent Leadership (CL) programme throughout their membership during weekly educational meetings. The yearly fee is RM30.00 only which will cover the costs of CC and CL manuals, training sessions, talks and refreshments.
What do we do in an educational meeting?
We will conduct special training sessions where certified and professional speakers to give speechcraft on how to be proficient speakers and leaders. In addition, members will have the opportunity to give speeches in accordance to the CC and CL project manuals. The projects include Organizing Your Speech, Body Language, Persuading with Power, Organizing and Delegating, Thinking Critically, Time Management and many more. For more information, click here.
